I really soup but Ryan isn’t much of a fan. It seems like a lot of work to make homemade soup just for me, so I turn to canned soup to get my soup fix most of the time. My favorite brand is Campbell’s and with sales and coupons, I can get Campbell’s for cheaper than any other brand which I also love.
In the last few months, Campbell’s has come out with an assortment of products that are designed for taste lovers – these are products that have more flavor than your typical soups.
I was in the habit of buying Campbell’s condensed, chunky, and soup at hand soups for the last few years. Somehow, their slow kettle soups hadn’t fallen onto my radar. Some of their new products are flavors that are now available for their slow kettle line including Kickin’ Crab & Sweet Corn Chowder with Flame Roasted Onions & Cayenne Pepper and Roasted Chicken & Chardonnay with Fire-Roasted Tomatoes, Aged Parmesan & Pasta which I was able to try out. I’m not a fan of any seafood so I gave the kickin’ crab soup to Ryan’s step-dad. About a week later, he told me that he enjoyed it so much that he picked up a few at the store to take with him to work for lunch. I had the Roasted Chicken soup myself and absolutely loved it. As a kid one of my chores was to feed the cats and we’d give them both wet and dry food. Since then, whenever I open canned soup, chili, etc I hold my breath at first because it smells like the wet catfood to me. I assume this smell is actually just the preservatives used for canned foods but it bothers to me to make something for myself that reminds me of catfood, haha.
I was really surprised and excited to discover that the slow kettle soup I tried didn’t have that smell. I’m not sure if that’s just the result of the can being plastic (and I’ve been holding my breath when opening other plastic-canned soups for no reason?) or if this line of soup is different but I appreciate it either way. The taste was just great as well. It wasn’t your typical bland chicken soup at all. I could distinguish the different flavors between the different ingredients and was happy with the amount of chicken compared to the other ingredients. Once finished, I felt completely full as well which isn’t always the case for me with canned soup. I liked the soup so much that the next week at the grocery store I splurged and bought some more even though it wasn’t on sale and I didn’t have a coupon (this is something I never do!). I really liked it.
I’ll admit that I’m not real adventurous when it comes to cooking, but for those of you who are, Campbell’s also came out with Sun-ripened yellow tomato condensed soup and Thai Tomato Coconut which is from their gourmet bisque line which are suppose to be flavor packed as well. You can find them at most any grocery store.

I can’t remember the last time I actually stopped and looked at the soup selection in my grocery store! Right now, the weather is perfect for some soup – I will definitely have to check out my Campbell’s selection to see what I can find!

These sound delicious! I’d love to try the Kicking Crab & Corn Chowder sometime. I’ll have to look for these next time I’m out grocery shopping.

Sounds simply delicious. Thanks for sharing

I think the only soup I really LOVE is broc/cheese that my husband makes. I find when I eat soup ‘just because’, it’s usually Campbell’s because it easy!
