I received products from Starbars for review. All opinions are my own.

I have a very restrictive diet that I’m following, and finding convenient food bars is incredibly hard to find. However, Starbars has a line of raw, superfood bars that contain all natural, organic, raw ingredients, and no harmful additives, preservatives, or added processed or fake sugars.

I tried all of the Starbars flavors, Brain, Detox, Beauty, Libido, and Skinny.

Each Starbar has its own function enhancing ingredients for the various functions. The Brain bar has cacao, peppermint and supergreen foods full of antioxidants and omega 3 fatty acids which is supposed to enhance mental alertness, promotes clarity, preserves memory and increases brain power. The Detox bar has raw ginger, strawberries and chia seeds which are supposed to help you feel pure, cleansed and energized. The Beauty bar has a combination of chia seeds, blueberries and pomegranate, which are supposed to aid in the synthesis of collagen and beautiful skin. The Libido bar has cacao and maca, which is supposed to increase energy, endurance, physical strength, enhances mood and libido. The Skinny bar has a chia seed, lemon and apple blend that is supposed to eliminate hunger and enhance energy, endurance and help retain electrolytes.

I cannot really speak to the supposed benefits of each bar. I did not notice any enhanced brain function, or more beautiful skin, as I was only provided one of each bar. I believe that to see the effects mentioned above, you would need to eat the bars more regularly, not simply one time. However, I did notice that I was not very hungry at all after eating the Skinny bar.

I can however speak to the taste of the bars. I was honestly expecting them not to taste well at all. Given their raw, natural, organic ingredients, I thought they wouldn’t taste well, but I would know I was eating something health so I would endure through it. However, this was not the case at all! They were actually quite yummy! My favorite bars were the Beauty and Skinny bars, as I found I really liked the raw fruit flavors. Although I also really liked the Brain bar, as it gave me a good chocolate fix without the guilt.

Overall, I really liked these bars. The taste was great, and they have really great, natural ingredients. I liked having a convenient superfood snack bar that was healthy, and also taste great and kept me going for awhile. My only problem with these bars is the price point. A 12 pack is $47.88 on their website, which means they’re about $4 a bar. That is a little outside my price range personally, as these are something I’d want to eat every day, if not a couple of times a day. I hope that as these bars gain in popularity, they might be able to bring the price down, or perhaps produce a line of bars that are a bit less expensive. However, I know that for many people this price is not a problem, and if that’s you, you should definitely check them out!
