I remember being surprised to learn that cloth diapers were making a comeback when I first started blogging. I saw stay at home mom bloggers blogging about their cloth diapering experience and was surprised at first. However, after reading more I began to learn about how traditional disposable diapers are really bad for the planet. Did you know that traditional diapers take about 300 years to decompose? Even if you just think about a single city block, imagine 300 years worth of disposable diapers from all the babies that have lived there. That is a lot of garbage to leave hanging around!

My cousin was interested in cloth diapering but she works during the day and her baby goes to daycare. She couldn’t find any local daycares that would take babies who use cloth diapers so she didn’t have much choice but to leave her baby in disposables at least during the weekdays. For other moms, they may have an interest in being earth-friendly but they don’t have their own washer and dryer or they just don’t have the time to cloth diaper. For moms in that in between “Gray area” going with an ecofriendly disposable diaper is a great option.

Seventh Generation Presents “Touch of Cloth”  diapers that let you enjoy the convenience of disposable diapers without as much damage to the earth. I found these two videos about them pretty interesting.

I have used Seveneth Generation dishsoap and laundry soap in the past and really enjoyed both. They both worked just as well as traditional cleaners but I liked knowing I was using a more natural product that was better for the earth.

Have you tried Seventh Generation diapers? How did they work for you & your baby?
