Several of the top items on my bucket list include traveling. I grew up with a lot of siblings – seven total between my stepdad and my mom, so traveling with that many children would have been extremely expensive. My grandparents own a cabin an a lake a few hours north of where we live, and we were able to go there for much cheaper than we could leave state or stay in a hotel with that many people so we never made a trip out-of-state at all while I was a child.

I have always been a little bummed that I’ve only left my state about three times, and even then I only visited the bordering states and that was while on field trips with school. I would love to see New York City, California, Florida and of course other countries as well.
There is so much to think about when planning a trip, though. Even on our trips to the family cabin I always forget to pack a few things and have to buy them at a premium once we arrive. I always double and triple check that I have my wallet, my cell phone, my ID, my medications, etc. It’s easy to get so caught up in planning the trip and packing everything needed that we forget about outside risks such as theft, losing our important possessions while away from home, getting sick or having some emergency comes up that requires the trip to be cancelled.
Allianz Global Assistance offers travel insurance that can protect you from travel snafus, and even cover you if your trip has to be cancelled right before you leave if the cancellation reason is covered by your policy. If you pay a pre-paid deposit for your trip, having travel insurance can get you that money refunded. Many people make the cost of traveling one of their top priorities when planning a trip, and having travel insurance is a great way to give yourself a safety net financially. Allianz Global Assistance lets you choose the plan that best fits your travel plans and insurance needs. Allianz Global Assistance has offices and 34 countries and covers 18 million customers each year. Allianz Global Assistance is ready and able to help customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year which is great because they handle 52 million calls each year – that’s 3 every 2 seconds!
The Allianz Global Assistance website has tons of resources (over 200 articles!) available to help you plan, budget for and prepare for your travel. I am all for budgeting, so I loved this article that covered 10 tips to save money while traveling.
Where you do plan to travel to in the next year? Would you feel more relaxed on your trip if you were covered by travel insurance?

I do think travel insurance is a great idea. You never know if an emergency can come up and you have to cancel your plans.

We recently had a trip ruined by illness and have since looked into travel insurance. I will have to check Allianz Global. They sound perfect for our needs!
