Zippo products were sent for my review. All opinions are my own.
My dad has always been a fan of Zippo lighters so I don’t really remember being unaware of the Zippo brand. If you aren’t familiar with Zippo, they’re a brand of refillable lighters that have been around since the 1930’s. My grandpa passed down a Zippo to my dad so it’s a very sentimental item for him. I know several cigarette smokers who prefer Zippo lighters because they are windproof so they can be used outside without having to cup your hand to block the wind. Of course, the windproof technology makes them great for any situation where you are using a lighter outside including bonfires, burning leaves, etc.
Zippo provides a lifetime warranty on their lighters so if yours quits working even 30 years after purchase you can send it in and they will repair it for you. Their windproof lighters come in dozens of colors and designs.
Ryan has a Zippo that we had customized with his name that he’s been using for over a year now. He enjoys his lighter so we thought we we would get Zippo lighters for Ryan’s step dad and brother this year.
Ryan’s step dad is an army veteran so we knew he’d enjoy the Army Zippo. Ryan’s brother tends to prefer really simple minimalist designs so for him we went with a plain black Zippo. I think both Zippo lighters will be well received on Christmas morning.
In addition to their windproof lighters, Zippo also has a hand-warmer, candle lighters, knives, utility lighters and more.
If you purchase a Zippo as a gift, buying lighter fluid and extra flints is a great idea so they will have everything they need to use the Zippo for quite a while.
Win it: Zippo is offering their classic black matte lighter as a prize. Giveaway is open to the US and will end 12/5/2015 at 11:59pm EST.
