Nutrisystem 50 pounds lost bear

I have been provided with a Nutrisystem plan in exchange for sharing my honest experience and results on my blog. All opinions are my own.

Tomorrow will mark 7.5 months of Nutrisystem for Ryan! This week he weighed in at 206 pounds, bringing him to a total loss of 52.5 pounds. The weight loss overall has been great, but it’s been a bit slower lately. Still, Ryan has been seeing a lot of non-scale victories because his body has continued changing even though the weight loss seems to have slowed down a bit.

For example, he recently lost another jean size so he is now down THREE jean sizes in the waist. He has lost two shirt sizes to date, and some of those are getting a bit too big so depending on the brand he’s also down three sizes in shirts. In the fall I got him a genuine leather belt that was a ‘one size fits all’ belt that didn’t fit at the time but this week he comfortably fit into the first hole.

Once or twice a month Ryan will allow himself a cheat meal (just meaning any high calorie meal). His meal of choice is usually cheeseburgers as this is one of his favorite meals. With many foods we’ve found alternative ways to make our favorite foods (like swapping beef tacos for turkey tacos and traditional tortillas for low-carb and low-cal tortillas) so we can still enjoy those foods when cheating without cheating TOO much. With cheeseburgers Ryan wants beef (turkey burgers just don’t hit the spot) and his favorite brand of cheese and bun. This week when having his cheat meal he wasn’t able to finish his second burger because he felt too full which shocked us both but felt like a serious victory because he now doesn’t even have the desire to eat as much while cheating as he used to. He didn’t feel like he had ‘lost out’ on cheating at all, he completely scratched the cheeseburger itch with fewer calories which is awesome.

Do you just watch the scale while working out or take note of non-scale victories too? I’d love to hear about your recent victories – on the scale or not!

So happy for Ryan. I bet he loves that leather belt! I do not watch the scale. I am trying to gain muscle, which burns more energy, but also weighs more than fat, and do not want to get discouraged. I can tell by how I look and feel though, so no, I don’t really follow what the scale reads.

It’s important to celebrate ALL the changes that are happening. Good going.

This gives me hope. ALL THAT WEIGHT in just 7 1/2 months? I am majorly impressed. I ignore and judge how my clothes fit…..or don’t fit. It’s discouraging to hit a plateau, but you have to stick with it. Yay for Ryan!!

Sound like he’s hit kind of a plateau!! I bet he’ll make it through!! I never weigh myself and I always go by how my clothes fit and how I feel!!

Thanks for sharing your real-life success story. He must be so pleased! It’s very encouraging, especially that it seems to carry over even when not eating the Nutrisystem foods.

Wow what a difference for Ryan! That’s amazing how many pants sizes he’s down! What a nice feeling that is!
