I have been provided with a Nutrisystem plan in exchange for sharing my honest experience and results on my blog. All opinions are my own.

When Ryan began Nutrisystem several months ago his goal was to lose weight. When we signed up we were asked to provide a goal weight for him to eventually reach. I remember us discussing what his goal should be. In the end we said 210 pounds because that was about a 50 pound loss. That seemed like a huge amount to lose, and saying less seemed unrealistic. Still, we knew that even with a 50 pound loss his BMI would not be in the healthy weight range quite yet. We just didn’t think more than 50 pounds was even possible. Yet, he passed that goal and has created a new goal of losing at least 70 pounds total, making his new goal weight 190 for now. He might even change the goal lower once he gets there, but we thought it made sense to aim for that and then reevaluate from there.
It’s pretty amazing that he’s completed the goal that we worried was unrealistic, and he’s confidently striving to go further now. Seeing the number on the scale drop has been so exciting. He is currently at 203, and is excited to be so close to being out of the 200’s.
Still, this week’s big victory wasn’t scale related. Warm weather finally showed up here in Michigan. We got too warm wearing jeans outside so I realized it was time to find our shorts.

First attempt at fishing of the year, no keepers!
I went out to the garage to find a plastic bin of spring/summer clothing. Ryan started Nutrisystem last July, and we knew we would be moving in early fall. So when packing up our summer clothing bin I packed away clothing that he wore last summer in one bin, and summer clothing that was too small for him as summer 2016, with the hope that Nutrisystem would help him fit into those clothing for this summer. I went out to the garage and found the generic summer bin, full of clothing that was now too big. I set that aside to send to Goodwill. Then I found the one labeled summer 2016 and drug it inside.

When I opened it, I was surprised to realize that the “smaller clothing” I had packed away in hopes of it fitting him this year, were now all too big! I packed away 38’s and 36’s and he’s now wearing 34’s. Last summer he was wearing 40’s, so he’s down 3 full sizes. How cool is that?
Of course, this means we’ll have to buy him some new clothing because he doesn’t even own shorts that are a 34, but it’s a great problem to have.

What a great story. I am so glad to hear that nutrisystem actually works. I was wondering if it did or not. I would love to try nutrisystem and see if it works for me….

You two will have to celebrate at the one year mark in July. That’s so great Ryan’s been successful. He did it the healthy, slow way too. I’ve been gaining a bit of muscle, lifting a bit more weight and with bodyweight exercises. It was my New Year’s resolution so it’s slowly coming to realization.

Good for him! 🙂 I had my youngest two babies only a year apart, so after having my youngest daughter I was in a size 6 and it took a longer than after my first. Now, almost 2 years later I can’t find a single thing that fits and everything is so baggy! I also have to buy a whole new wardrobe, but it feels good! 🙂
