Surprise My Pet sent me their dog subscription box for review. All opinions are my own.
Since my first Surprise My Pet review (from February) I’ve been so pleased with our Surprise My Pet subscription. Each box has toys, treats and sometimes a gift for you (the pet owner) or sometimes accessories for your dog as well. It’s so fun to try out new treats, toys and products with my dogs each month. My dogs are picky when it comes to toys in particular, but toys aside we’ve loved nearly everything that we have been sent via Surprise My Pet. See my past Surprise My Pet reviews for specifics.
This month’s box came in a plain box. Inside Surprise My Pet explained that they are currently looking into finding the best, most ecofriendly box to use for the price. The inside also explained that this month’s box is movie night themed. I thought it was a fun theme for the beginning of summer when many of us are thinking about relaxing.
The box had a few really unique treats! I love how creative and playful they are.
The Yak Charms come in a bag that looks really similar to a microwave popcorn bag. Inside are bits of yak-milk chews that can be ‘popped’ into puffy treats for your dog. The packaging is adorable and fits within the movie night theme so well! Retail value $2.99.
The other treats fit with the movie night theme as well. For example, the Chow Chow mean dog treats came in a box that looks like a takeout box, complete with a little handle. Inside is tiny dog-bone shaped treats that my dogs loved. Retail value $8.99.
Of course, no movie night is complete without dessert! So for dessert Puppy Cake Ice Cream is included. It comes in a little container that closely mimics a pint of ice cream. However, it is shelf-stable because you have to add water to make it. This would be a cute way to celebrate your dog’s birthday as well! Retail value $7.99.
The last treat was just a little sample add-on, but it was two pawTreats in a little sample size bag. The treats were super dry and soft and my dogs gobbled them up in seconds. This isn’t really considered one of the items in the box (doesn’t get included in the value of the box) it was just a free sample to try for fun.
The box had two plush toys included. One was a super unique Elvis banana sandwich toy. My dogs are pugs so they have really small mouths and this toy was a bit big for them, but we’ll pass it on to a bigger dog to enjoy. It has two pieces that velcro together so it can be used as two toys or one. retail value $14.99
The second toy is a smartphone dog toy. It has cute details like a paw print on the back of the phone where a smartphone logo would normally be. This toy was more my dogs’ size and speed and I thought it was super cute. Retail value is $8.99.
The last item in the box was an accessory. The One Fur All Candle that we were sent smells SO summery, I love it! It’s made to help cover or conceal pet odors. It’s fairly small but it has a very powerful scent. I have it sitting on the counter and I can smell it when I get within a couple of feet of it even though it’s not lit. It almost works like an air freshener even when not lit. The candle has a retail value of $3.49.
The total retail value of the box was $47.44. This doesn’t include any cost for the PawTreats that were thrown in as an extra bonus. Surprise My Pet ranges from $35-$29 per box depending on how long you subscribe for at a time. So, the value is great! Plus, it’s so fun to get to find out about new pet products I wouldn’t find otherwise.

I learned that dogs are happier to receive gifts just like any person does.

Ohhh my! This is sooo dadgum cute and would be totally appreciated by our Roxy baby! The only thing that would not work for her would be the plushy toys because those would be destroyed in a minute and a half lol.

As usual, the plush dog toys are my favorites! The Elvis banana sandwich!! Where do they come up with these witty toy ideas?! I love the dog smartphone plush and think every smart dog should have one, lol. Very cute post.
