I am a Nutrisystem nation blogger. I am provided with a Nutrisystem plan in return for regular updates. All opinions are my own.
I’ve shared before how the convenience of preparing Nutrisystem entrees is really nice. Most of the meals are ready in just a few minutes which makes it a great plan for busy people. This week Ryan mentioned to me how much he appreciates how most of the entrees have two cooking options.
He explained that he likes having the convenience of preparing most meals via microwave or via oven. He said the microwave option is nice for when he is busy or needs to eat before running off to go somewhere. However, on days when he has more time he enjoys having the oven option because it results in a really nice texture (in his opinion). Other entrees have minimal difference based on how they are cooked. For example, the Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes entree is all covered in a gravy type substance, so even if cooke in the oven it would stay moist and soft. Other entrees, such as the broccoli and cheese stuffed chicken breast can get much crispier when cooked in an oven, so he prefers to cook that one in the oven when he has the time.
For choosy people, having a lot of options can be the difference between a meal plan being a success or a failure. We’re so thankful that Nutrisystem has plenty of options, not just in entrees but how to cook them.

I like that there are two ways to cook most of the entrees.

This is great that you have the option to microwave or use the oven, this is where the toaster oven would come in handy!!

I know what he means. Some of the frozen meals I have as an emergency meal are just not good out of the microwave. They really need to be in the oven. I am glad he has found ways to stay on the system with food he likes.

I really like meals baked in the oven over the microwave. It is nice to know that you have either option.

It is nice that some can be done different ways. I think I would prefer oven too. It would get tiresome always microwaving. I think too the oven makes it feel like a different meal and one that has not been premade but prepared.

These meals sound really good! I love that they offer cooking options, this is definitely a nice feature. I agree that cooking a frozen meal in the oven improves the flavor/texture, but being able to cook in the microwave is very handy too. 🙂
I’ve never tried to bake a frozen food although I’ve seen the directions on the box. I bet it does taste better!
