Rover.com: the haven for pet owners and sitters

For those who subscribe to the belief that it’s a dog-and-cat world and we’re just living in it, Rover.com is the place for you. Whether you’re a pet owner with the travel bug and the frequent need for a reliable sitter to care for your sweet pooch or feline, or a pet lover who loves making extra cash and meeting new furry friends, Rover takes care of everyone. Especially (and most importantly!) the pets we all love so much. Rover is all about supporting great connections and growing the pack. They want owners, sitters, and animals alike to be happy, and it’s easy get a great experience on both sides with a site like this.

If you’re a pet owner who needs some extra help…

Rover gives you peace of mind that your pet is in trustworthy hands in a number of different ways. The sitter application process weeds out all but the most experienced, responsible, and pet-loving, meaning that less than 20% of applicants are approved to be a Rover sitter. Sitters must pass background checks, create detailed profiles complete with recommendations from people who can attest to the quality of their services, and ultimately be approved by Rover’s experienced sitter specialist teams.

While your furry loved ones are in the care of a sitter, Rover reminds them to send photo updates and communicate with you. If a sitter cancels on you within 7 days of a reservation, Rover assists in finding you another sitter. Because while pet owning is a whole lot of love, cuddles, and playtime, it’s no joke—and Rover gets that.

If you want to become a pet sitter and make a little extra cash…

While the Rover application process is indeed a multi-step one as mentioned above, Rover makes it clear, easy, and efficient to set up your profile and do everything you need to do to get approved. Once you become an official Rover sitter (yay!), it’s some of the most convenient extra money you’ll ever make.

You set your own hours, choose the kind of pets you’re comfortable watching, and to top it off, you have a selection of different kinds of gigs. For example, if you live in a place that doesn’t allow dogs, you can be a dog walker instead of boarding pooches. You can also provide house sitting services and stay at your client’s home, or just drop in during the day to give extra attention and walks. Rover makes it possible for you to pick how and when you make extra cash. The best part? No matter which variety of Rover service you provide, at the end of the day you’re hanging out with animals, so it’s a win.

And if you’re a dog or a cat…

Life is already pretty awesome, and Rover makes it that much better by ensuring that you always have someone around to take care of you and obsess over how adorable you are. No need to sadly watch your human leave for their weekend trip, because a new Rover pal has your back!

  • Aww! What a cutie! It’s so important to find trust worthy people to keep the furbabies!

  • This is good to know. Next time we go somewhere we can’t take our doggie I will remember this

This is great for pet owners. It is so hard to find a trust worthy person to care for your pet. I used something like that years ago. It worked out for us.

This is a great concept! Once you find someone you like and a backup, no need to worry about what to do with your pet!

This sounds like an awesome site, thanks for sharing! It is definitely helpful to have a safe and secure place to find help for your pets! They are our family and we want what’s best for them. 🙂

We have three cats and were about to take a big long trip, we have a great pet sitting company and within that company got so lucky with a great cat sitter. We want our pets to be happy and taken care of and great companies like Rover help our peace of minds.

We use Rover and love it. Through the site, we’ve found a wonderful woman who has kept our dog twice. She sends photos daily and it’s obvious she loves! Our dog looks happy and has a blast with the other dogs.

this would be useful , it’s hard to find someone to look in on pets when we go away!

This could be useful to us for when we leave town! We have paid local services for check on our animals daily and it can be so costly! I’ll look into this!

Wow, this sounds like something worth looking into! I worry about who is watching my babies when I’m gone and I’d much rather have someone who really loves furbabies!

This sounds like a great service for pet owners. Plus people get to make extra money and take care of pets. It’s a win-win.

I did not know that there was something out there for pet families. Years ago when i traveled a lot it was hard to find someone to take care of my pet.

I do quite a bit of pet sitting but didn’t know about this site. I usually get word-of-mouth referrals. I’ll look into this site.

Finding daycare for baby or animal care for your pet= all stressful. They are NOT all the same. Actually, as I write this comment, my hubby and kids went away for weekend and I chose to stay back and one reason was to watch our dog. Our last pet resort place visit, she got canine influenza. Thanks for sharing info.

What a wonderful idea this is, I wouldn’t mind sitting with pets and giving some love back. I love playing with my neighbors dogs.

I like they have trustworthy people taking care of our pets, and not someone who is going to abuse them, gives me peace of mind. And photo updates of how they are doing is nice. I always wondered about this site.

Sounds like a great service. I hate leaving our dogs at the kennel.
