I was sent a pair of SAS Shelly sandals for review. All opinions are my own.
I’ve always had wide feet. I’ve purchased shoes that are 1/2 or 1 full size larger than my foot size, to gain the extra width needed, especially for heels or sandals. While sizing up for width reduces how much pain I get from the sides of the shoes, it often causes issues with my gait because the shoe doesn’t stay in place as well. I used to buy simple men’s flip-flops, because they are wider than women’s for the same length, and if purchased in black or brown you really can’t tell that they came from the men’s department. However, the last couple of summers I’ve started having pain between my toes, and in my heel if I wear flip-flops. They just don’t offer any support.
This summer, I decided it was time to invest in a pair of nice, supportive shoes that really fit my feet. I turned to SAS Shoes. The entire SAS brand aims to provide shoes that provide your feet with the support you need, without sacrificing fashion. I’m 26 and I like to dress my age. I want shoes that look age-appropriate while being wide enough for my feet and supportive.
I chose the SAS Shelly sandals in black because I thought they would be a great staple piece for my wardrobe. I love how the strap wraps around a toe because it gives them a youthful flair without feeling too young for me. With a 1.25 inch heel they are casual enough to wear with shorts and a t-shirt, or dressy enough to wear with a casual dress or skirt. Although they have the heel, they do not feel like walking in heels because it is a very gradual increase. The straps that cross over the feet are not just for looks, they can adjust in width to ensure that they fit your feet perfectly. They are available in a medium width or a wide with. I purchased the wide with and they fit me so well!
I always knew that some shoes were a bit too tight for me because they would indent the sides of my feet and cause me pain. However, I have many other pairs of shoes that are snug in certain areas but do not cause pain exactly. I thought that going with a wider shoe would make them too big. These are so wide that they do not put pressure on the sides of my feet at all, but they still stay in place when I walk around. Truly, a perfect fit! They have a contoured insole to support the natural arch of the foot. They are made with a genuine leather so they should not be worn every single day, they need time to breathe between wears. I think I need to get a second pair, perhaps in another color, so that I can rotate between the two because I’d love to be wearing these every day in the summer. I ordered my typical shoe size (number) and they seem to be true to size.

Firstly you have such a lovely figure and look beautiful in those pictures. Secondly, women tend not to buy proper shoes because they don’t want to appear to have bigger feet. I always buy a size bigger because my feet tend to swell in the summer due to kidney disease from Lupus. I have narrow feet also and I wear ugg slippers mostly to accommodate for this. I did not like these sandals first but the more I scrolled through the pictures, they grew on me.
