Owala water bottles and brush

I was sent Owala water bottles and a bottle brush as part of my holiday gift guide. There are affiliate links in this post. All opinions are my own.

Owala is a brand that makes water bottles that are simple, yet cleverly designed. They make just three types so you don’t have to get bogged down with too many options. There’s the FreeSip, the Flip, and the Twist. These are differences in the lids or spouts of the bottles. Each of the three styles of bottles come in stainless steel or tritan materials, and in multiple sizes and colors. For reference, all of mine are in tritan.

Owala flip, twist and freesip

The clear & white bottle o the far left is the flip style. It has a flip-out spout that can fold in, and even lock in place when not in use. It uses a straw so that you can suck water up from the bottom of the bottle. A fun feature of the flip bottle in tritan is you can see the straw side, and Owala uses contrasting straw colors with some of the bottles. As you can see here, the straw for the white/clear bottle is a turquoise color. If you ordered this bottle in purple, the straw that would come with it is pink, etc. I got this flip-style bottle for myself. This is the 25oz size which I find to be a good size for using when running errands around town or similar. It fits nicely in standard cup holders which is nice, too.

The bottle in the center of the photo above is the twist style. Ryan prefers water bottles that allow him to drink a lot of water, really fast. He doesn’t like spouts that you have to stuck on. The twist bottle has a twist-off lid, somewhat similar to a disposable water bottle or soda bottle. Except, this has been designed to be extremely easy to remove the cap, just 1/2 a twist vs 3 turns for a regular bottle. I appreciate how the lid stays fixed to the bottle so you don’t have to worry about removing it. I think this bottle would be great for taking to the gym as you can “chug” water with it quite easily. It’s also extremely easy to clean seems how it’s just a really simple opening.

Owala free sip

The last bottle style is the FreeSip. This bottle has a lid that can flip open, and it reveals a hole that has two portions (pictured directly above). This bottle comes with a straw, and if you attach the straw you can sip out the smaller portion of the hole. Alternatively, you can ‘chug’ water from the larger hole without using the straw. I see this bottle as a two-in-one, which I like because my boyfriend and I have different bottle preferences. He’s able to use this somedays without adding the straw, and I can use it on other days by adding the straw.

We were also sent the Owala bottle brush, and really like it! Many bottle brushes have harder bristles on the side than are on the end of the brush. I’ve never understood this, as if liquid is left too long to sit in a bottle, it’s at the end of the bottle. So if there is any part on a bottle that I want to scrub the most, it’s at the bottom! I love how the Owala bottle brush has nice firm bristles on the end of the brush so you can scrub the bottoms of bottles with ease. It also has a removable brush head and the brush head is dishwasher safe, so you can run it through your dishwasher to clean it. The end of the handle also has a straw brush inside it, which is perfect for cleaning the Owala straws or most other straws that you may have.

I also appreciate how the Owala brand products are all reasonably priced. The Tritan 25oz bottles are $14.99, and the stainless steel bottles are range from $21.99 for the smallest size (19oz) to $29.99 for the biggest size (32oz).

Owala bottles would make nice holiday gifts or stocking stuffers this year!
