A custom vehicle painting from A Drop Of Color Etsy. I purchased this entirely on my own, I didn’t partner with this Etsy shop for this blog post in any way. I just love what she made for me SO much that I had to share with you all. She does custom paintings of your vehicle (or any vehicle you’d like). She does this by hand and allows you to customize it pretty much as much as you want. She has different painting styles you can choose from, and she lets you give lots of input on how you want the piece to look. I had some really specific requests – such as I wanted this little bear to be shown hanging out the back window of the truck. I didn’t have a photo of the vehicle I wanted painted, but I knew the make/model so I found one online. However, the only picture I could find of this exact truck in the right make/model/paint color from the angle that I wanted it painted in, had some extra hardware attached to the box of the truck. I sent her the photo and asked if she’d be able to paint a truck like that but without the extra hardware on there, with the bear in the back window (I sent her a photo of the bear), with my dad ‘driving’ the truck ( I sent her a picture of him), with a customized license plate and with a missing “O” on the tailgate (I had a photo example of this as well). That is a LOT of pickiness to ask for, and she managed to do it all. She made me a lifelong keepsake that was worth every penny. If you have a dad who loves his car, a racecar or similar, a custom painting could make an awesome father’s day gift. Or if you know someone who has lost their dad, they could make a meaningful bereavement gift. The shop is on vacation as I write this June 1st, and the work does take some time so it may be too late to have it delivered by Father’s day but if ha’s the case, it’s worth the wait!
