I’m in my mid 30’s, and my age is starting to catch up with me a bit! I’ve started having some pain in the heel of my foot in the mornings. I suspect it is plantar fasciitis, though I haven’t seen a podiatrist to confirm just yet. The last few years, I’ve enjoyed the appearance of really basic sneakers. I think they’re cute, and they are easy to match with any outfit. However, the big downside to this style of shoe is they don’t provide any support in the sole of the shoe.

The lack of support in my shoes has likely contributed to my recent foot pain, so I realized it’s time to get more serious about taking care of my feet. I still love the look of my shoes, so rather than switch styles, I got CURREX® SUPPORTSTP™ Insoles which are part of their everyday wear insoles collection. CURREX makes a wide range of insoles, intended for different types of sports or exercise. These ones are just for walking, which is perfect for me as I walk 2 blocks each day, but don’t usually jog or do other exercise.

These SupportsSTP insoles come in three heights, low medium and high. You should choose this based on how high your arches are. I am pretty flat footed, so I went with the low height. They’re also available in a wide range of shoe sizes. I wear women’s 7.5 shoe, so I got a size “SM” which fits women’s shoe sizes 6-8.

These fit great in my current shoes. I immediately noticed a difference when wearing them. They are supportive, but in a way that I forget about them. They aren’t overly soft or overly firm or high. The toe area and various other areas have ventiliation to prevent them from making your feet overheat. There are three sections of extra padding and support, placed where it’s most helpful.
In addition to providing stabilization and support, they can help reduce fatigue. I work an office job so I don’t often experience fatigue in my feet. Still, in upcoming long days of mall shopping or spending a day at a festival – I’m sure I’ll appreciate that!
