I’ve always had a soft spot for personalized or customized gifts. I love when you can give a gift and it really makes the recipient feel loved, seen, understood, etc. I think personalized gifts are often a great way to make that more likely.
I also really like gifts that are likely to become keepsakes, because sentimental value is just superior to any other sort of value, I think.
In Brick-You’s custom brick figurines, I think you get the best of both of these worlds. The gifts are custom, so they’re very likely to make the recipient feel loved. Especially if they are a lifelong brick building fan! And because the figurines are of them and their spouse, or their family, it’s almost certainly going to hold sentimental value. Plus, they have the added bonuses of getting to experience putting the set together, and the added benefit of getting to sit it out for display.
That’s a LOT of perks in a single gift!
When ordering from Brick You, you select how many people and how many pets you want in your set. Then you send in one or more photos of each person or pet that you want included. I had a set made of me and my husband, but I didn’t have to use one photo of the two of us together. You can send in one picture of you, and another of your spouse, and a third of your child, for example. You can even send in a couple photos of each person, if you need! Maybe you love your hair in one photo but your outfit from another? you can send in both photos and explain that you like the haircut or hairdo that you had in photo 1, and the dress you were wearing in photo 2.
Being able to pick and choose different features from different photos was a really nice perk for me. I didn’t have to sort through photos of us together to find the magical photo that was perfect of both of us. I just grabbed a good one of me, a good one of him, and they were able to combine them.
With me and my husband both wearing prescription glasses full time, I loved that Brick You is able to incorporate glasses. My husband keeps a full beard all the time, so I also love that they customize facial hair as well. We just wouldn’t be us without our glasses and his beard! They also can include asymmetrical hair styles, patterns on clothing, curly hair and other “small” details that really make the figures look like the real person, not just a generic brick person with the ‘right’ hair color and eye color.
The bricks themselves are well made, similar quality to what you’d expect from a regualr brick set. these aren’t junky toys that will be easily damaged.
I am keeping this for my husband to put together, and it’s a surprise Christmas gift for him. So, I haven’t seen ours together yet but I did check out the pieces and they feel really well made. I know this is a gift that will surprise and delight him this Christmas! I think it would make an awesome gift for anyone who loves brick sets now, or who loved them as a kid. Or, anyone who would love a custom figurine set of their family! I wasn’t much of a brick builder myself as a kid, but I am excited that we’re going to have figurine versions of us soon. It’s such a fun decor piece once it’s finished!
