Growing up, we never had a dishwasher. When we moved into our first apartment, it didn't have a dishwasher either. So when we moved into our current apartment and it had a dishwasher, I was very excited. I didn't know anything about dishwasher detergents, but I assumed they were all the same. So when we got groceries I grabbed a box of generic powder and brought it home to try in the dishwasher. I ran it once and when our clear glass dishes came out, they looked like they had spend the last 10 years Read more [...]

The exhibit is traveling, so if you can't get to Toledo to the imagination station before September 18th, be sure to check and see if it's coming closer to your home town. I want to start off by saying that this blog post won't even begin to do justice for the bodies revealed exhibit. I'm not a "science girl" and I've struggled with writing this part of the post. I had experienced memory foam before, in the form of bath mats, mattress toppers and pillows - but the pillows I had seen were super expensive, over a hundred dollars. While they might be so amazingly comfortable that it's worth it, it's Read more [...]

I remember being interested in coffee when I was about five years old. My baby sitter at the time seemed to drink coffee all day every day. She had a son who was about my age and he always wanted to drink from her coffee cup but she wouldn't let him, of course. I think the only reason I was interested was because I knew kids aren't suppose to drink it. So one day when she was out of the room I tried it and thought it tasted like mud and silently decided I would never be a coffee drinker. Well, I've Read more [...]

On the second day of our Ohio trip we woke up, ate breakfast and headed out to the imagination station. We got to check the place out before it opened to the general public, so there weren't any kids present but I'm sure during the day it's a busy place. The imagination station is a "hands on" science center for kids, making it the perfect place to spend the day as a family. Most of the activities at imagination station are science based, but they are all things that appeal to kids in a playful, Read more [...]
