I recently was able to work with Honestech to review their program Claymation. As I have mentioned before, my boyfriend Ryan enjoys most anything technology related, including making videos. Although he normally works with regular videos, he also has made stop-animation videos on occasion. Although he has successfully made stop-animation videos before, he thought claymation sounded really neat and wanted to try it out. I personally know nothing about making videos, so I had him check this out for a while and then I asked him what he thought of it, and specifically asked for the good points and what he thought could be improved upon, if anything.

The things he noted liking about this program…
-As long as your photos are on a solid colored background, such as against an evenly painted wall, or on a solid colored sheet, etc, you can use the background as a green screen, and cut out the images and then place them on a new background.

-You can use the program to record dialog, or anything you say, that can play while your animation is going.

-Really easy to use, he thinks anyone could easily figure out this program even if they had very little knowledge working with similar programs.

-The program comes with lots of tutorials, that are right on the cd that the program is on.

Things that could use improvement

-After the animation was finished, it took a long time for the video to convert to a
type of file that could be uploaded to youtube, or something similar. He said he tried various settings and did find that it took a much shorter amount of time if he lowered the quality of the video, but lowering the quality made the video look noticeably worse.

Although I myself didn’t review this, he seems to enjoy it and thinks that it’s a good program overall. As you can see he only had one complaint or idea for improvement.
