It’s been a long time since I’ve posted about my life. In some ways not much has been going on but at the same time I feel like I’ve still been struggling to get as many posts in as I’d like. I guess nothing ‘big’ at all just lots of unexpected interruptions lately.
We are currently still living at my boyfriends moms. We had moved here in mid march and planned to move out, into a shared apartment with our buddy, by April 22nd. We moved here so that I could finish my college semester, seems how we are like half a mile from my college when we live here, and are half an hour away at the place we’re moving to.
We’ve just had SO many delays in moving. There are four apartment buildings that are in the same gated community and have a little manager building, with one secretary-like woman and then the main manager that actually has all the power. To get an appointment with the main manager takes at least 5 days, and you can’t drop anything off to her without an appointment. Like for example, we had a meeting with her, but we found out we needed just ONE additional paper, that we hadn’t brought. They said we’d have to bring it in. So the next day we brought it in, only to find out that we had to wait six days until we could get a meeting with the lady again, because we can’t just drop the paper off.
Really? Come on now.
The current holdup is over our background checks. I know I’ve never talked about my past on here before…because well, there’s nothing that interesting in there. haha. But I honestly can count the number of detentions I had in school on one hand. I have never been in any kind of trouble of any kind, ever. At least anything beyond those four detentions I had over the course of my middle and high school years. But you know what I mean. Yet, apparently something came up on my background check that needs to be looked into. So we’ve been delayed almost a week over that. The manager said she was able to see that something was there, but not what it was. She has to find out what it is before she can decide if it’s serious enough to cause issues with us moving in or not. I’m super curious what it is though, and in a way I am thankful that I now at least know something is there, so that if it’s not actually about me I can hopefully look into getting it corrected, or if it is somehow related to me that I will at least know it is there and can explain ahead of time before a background check is done on me again in the future.
My boyfriend has started a videography business and it seems to actually be taking off a bit! He bought a really expensive nice camera and our buddy that we are moving in with soon has a really nice regular camera and is in college to be a photographer. Our friend was in a wedding last weekend, and Ryan offered to video tape the wedding for free, if the couple would allow him to use the video in his portfolio. They agreed. At the wedding, a guy approached him and said he and his fiance are getting married this October, and he wanted to know if Ryan would be willing to tape the wedding for him, and of course Ryan said sure. The couple that got married last weekend were both in drama throughout high school, and so was my boyfriend and our buddy. The high schoool drama director went to the wedding, and she had a play going on the next day and asked if the guys would video tape and take pictures of the play for her. So they did that last Sunday, and then the choir director heard that they were hired to help with the play, so she asked them to work this thursday at an event that is going on this Thursday.
So we were already really happy that so many people were coming out of the woodwork who were interested in having work done for them, and then the choir director suggested that they could set up a table this Thursday and she said at the end of the concert she would tell everyone to check out their table if they were looking for someone to videotape a wedding or anything, or if they were looking for a photographer to do pictures for any reason, and said they could also try and sell DVDS of the event if anyone wanted to buy them.
The high school is small, with around 400 students but choir events and band events always bring large crowds, and this one is a combination of the two, so it seems like they should get in touch with a lot of people this week, and I think it will look great that the school is obviously happy with the quality of their work, which might sway people to trust their work more, with the school standing behind them. So I’m really happy for them anyway.
