As many of you know, we were suppose to be moving about a month and a half ago, but have had so many delays, due to various issues that have came up. We were told about 2 weeks ago that we were being held up due to something on my criminal background. Except, I’ve never had so much as a parking ticket, so we were really confused about what was going on.
Well, Thursday we were told that she was mistaken, and the issue was on Ryan’s background and not mine. However, he doesn’t have anything that should prevent us from moving in either, so we were asking questions and she said that this ‘crime’ he supposedly committed was in Indiana. He’s never even BEEN to Indiana. So she delayed us until Tuesday, when she claims she will call, but chances are she won’t because she hasn’t called us even ONE time yet, when she has said she will. So, we’ll probably wait and call Wednesday, assuming that she doesn’t call Tuesday.
However, what’s particularly frustrating about this delay, is she informed me that because she thought the issue was on my background, she sent back my packages and has been rejecting my mail.
about a month ago she had told me she was rejecting my mail, but once we got to a point where it seemed like we would for sure be moving in, she started allowing my mail again. So a couple of companies had sent me items that were rejected and sent back to them, and then I was told she would accept my mail, so I asked the company to re-send it to the same address. Well, now these have been sent BACK. So I’ve definitely learned my lesson and will be having ALL mail sent here until after we are 100 percent moved in. However, it’s very frustrating and I just hope that these companies are even WILLING to send for a third time. I’ve already spoken with a couple who have been extremely understanding and were willing to cooperate in a third send. However it makes me feel silly and embarrassed. I am used to being very professional when dealing with companies and this just makes me look bad, even though it’s mostly out of my control.
However, we are lead to believe for now, anyway, that the only thing holding us up is this background check, which clearly isn’t correct so we should be really close to moving FOR REAL this time. I’ll leave an update Tuesday or Wednesday though, after getting an update.
