Today’s gift idea is great for the cook in your family. I had been using some serving tools that were plastic that were suppose to be fine to cook with up to 400 degrees. However, like most stoves, my stove has ‘low, medium, and high’ and I have no idea how many degrees that changes over to. So I would use the tools all the time, and then one day realized they were melting on the edges. I’d rather not think about how we more than likely ate bits of melted plastic. So I decided I was done buying plastic even if it was “heat resistant”. I was sent oneida’s 5 piece tool set for review and they are great. The set is made of stainless steel, and the black turner is made of nylon. I thought the set looked great in the listing, yet I was surprised at how nice they look in person. They are super shiny and stand out if they are sitting on my counter in the container that they live in. The set is dishwasher safe which is super convenient. The only downside to these serving tools is they could potentially scratch your nonstick pans, but I don’t own very many non stick pans. I have used these tools while using a non stick pan and have just been careful to not directly dig the tool into the pan and I haven’t noticed any scratching so far. These tools are slightly larger than my old set which is nice, because they better support larger foods when you are transporting the from pan to plate, and they work just as well for smaller items as well. Oneida sells many other products as well as serving tools. They have a huge selection of flatware, drinkware, kitchenware and more. They also sell holiday sets that are great for Christmas dinner.

I am having the same problem with my plastic cooking utensils. I have a couple stainless steel pieces and love them.
