Rokblocks are a great gift idea for the kid in your life around the 3-6 year old age range. During the preschool and early school years, blocks are a toy that can provide an almost endless amount of playtime. However, if you think about it, traditional blocks limit kids from building fully 3d pieces. You can only build a 3d building if the entire top layer has a stack of blocks underneath it to support it. So something like a bridge or an airplane would never support itself well enough to be made from blocks. That’s why rokblocks are better than traditional blocks. They are cube shaped building pieces that allow you to connect pieces together from any of the six sides of the cube, allowing you to build a tall skinny tower and then build sideways, creating works of art that simply aren’t physically possible with traditional blocks. I have seen preschool aged children play with building toys that are designed for their age range, and still end up frustrated. Legos, for example can sometimes get stuck together or be really hard to push down. Rokblocks slide together super easily, so although they say 3+ I would guess that most 2 year olds could build with rokblocks, if it weren’t for the choking hazard. The blocks have cone shaped pieces that help them interlock, but they also help guide the blocks together, for younger children who don’t have perfect hand eye coordination or fine motor skills. Although they are easy for 3 year olds to manipulate I know that rokblocks would entertain older children as well. Rokenbok makes other types of similar toys for children who are 6+ and 9+, but this preschool set includes wheels and could definitely entertain the older crowd for a while too. Although the wheels are a pretty basic idea, they add a lot to the building ability. Trains, planes, cars, trucks, school buses and lots more are all possible with rokblocks and a bit of imagination.
