I love sleep, and everything involved. I adore pillows. I love soft pillows over firm ones, yet I hate having to buy a new pillow every six months when my really soft pillow goes flat. I’ve tried many variations of pillows in the past, but when I heard of savvy rests shredded latex pillow I knew it was worth a try because it had a unique type of filling. I had never tried a shredded latex pillow so I was hoping it would be better than traditional pillows. I’ve had this pillow for about three weeks and so far it has definitely passed the test. I love the latex filling because it’s different than traditional fillers. It almost feels like it has a bit of bounce to it. Instead of your head sinking into a ball of cotton, it gracefully lays on top of a super comfortable yet slightly ‘springy’ feeling material. It’s hard to explain the springy feeling, but I really like it. Instead of feeling like my head sinks, I feel like it’s supported, but in a comfortable way. When the savvy rest pillow came it was incredibly thick, so thick that even if I was laying on my side, I had to angle my head upwards to get my head onto the pillow. However, this pillow is intentionally overstuffed, so that stuffing can be removed so that you can customize this pillow to your exact preferences. The pillow has a zippered pillowcase that can be taken off, and then the internal part has a zipper as well which if unzipped gives you access to the fillers. I removed a decent amount of filling from mine, it was a bit messy but not too bad. I love the outside layer with zipper because it can be thrown in the wash and used as a pillowcase on it’s own without needing an additional pillowcase. The outside is extremely soft. I love it. The only thing that I wish I could change about this pillow is it’s scent. It had the overpowering latex (similar to doctors/dentist glove smell) really strong when it first arrived and it still holds the scent but it’s gotten better as time as went on. However, I particularly dislike the latex scent so I’m much more sensitive to it than others. Ryan wasn’t bothered by it even the first day we had it. I had him try my pillow one night and he said he thought it was too thick, but of course if I wanted him to keep using it we could just take more of the filling out, which is a great feature of this savvy rest pillow because you can make it perfect for you.
