I first discovered tamagotchi toys when I was probably about 10 years old, and received a tamagotchi dalmation toy for christmas. If you have never heard of tamagotchi toys, they are small digital games that can be animals, people or creatures that you get to take care of. You feed them, play with them, keep track of their discipline and happiness, and play games. The new tamagotchi toys are cooler and more advanced than the toys that I knew, but they are the same basic idea. With the old toys, I would feed my pet and play with him for a couple of minutes and then get bored of playing fetch with him so I’d forget about him for a week and when I finally remembered him, he had died. So then I’d start all over. The cool thing about the new tamagotchi toys is the ability to buy new characters which you attatch to the top of your tamagotchi egg, that give you new games that are focused on that individual character. So basically you end up with a lot more games you can play, compared to the old tamagotchis. The same great basic idea is there though, you get to take care of your own pet without actually having to deal with the poo. Tamagotchi toys are inteded for ages 6+ and I have found that they are a hit with tweens and young teens. They are a cool enough toy that tweens and young teens don’t feel silly “playing” with them which is great because it can be pretty difficult to find toys that are “cool” enough for the 10-14 crowd. Without costing a ton of money, anyhow. Tamagotchi’s are really neat toys and affordable. They would be great gifts or stocking stuffers!
Buy it: They are available online at amazon or at wal mart and meijer stores.
