I love finding crafts to make with items I already have laying around the house. It’s a great way to be eco-friendly and it saves money as well. I first heard about Megan Nicolay’s Generation T books a couple of years ago from a friend I have who also enjoys repurposing items into new crafts. The generation t books are tutorials for clothing, accessories, household items and more than can be made from old t shirts. I received Generation t 120 ways to transform a t shirt for review and I love it. This is a great collection of projects because there’s really something for everyone and every situation. Whether you need a baby shower gift, birthday present, wedding present or just want to make something unique for yourself, your kids or your pets, this do it yourself craft book has you covered. The step by step directions are easy to follow even for beginners like myself. I successfully made a toilet seat cover but the colors I used didn’t work out like I hoped. But seems how it just takes a couple of t shirts to make I plan to grab more when I get a chance and try again. I often see old t shirts in freebie boxes at yard sales, and my town has a goodwill that has an ‘as is’ section that includes clothes that have a small stain, are fading or a small hole and go for around .50 cents a piece. Seems how most of the projects in this book don’t use the entire shirt, most shirts with a small stain or hole could still be used for many of these projects, which is part of what makes it great. Of course, these projects can be done using regular fabric as well. I really like this book and plan to stock up on t shirts from here on out. There’s another book similar to this one called 108 ways to transform a t shirt, and I can’t wait to check that one out as well!
