I love companies that take everyday functional products, and design them in a way that is more fun. Oven mitts that look like sharks? Coat racks with fingers for hooks? I love that kind of stuff. I think those types of products just make life more fun, even when you’re doing the everyday boring stuff like hanging up your coat. So when I discovered Belts Direct, and their unique ways of incorporating car seatbelt buckles into other products such as belts, purses and key-chains, I knew I had to have one. In fact, I had purchased my first seatbelt belt a few years ago, from a different company, and I loved it’s appearance. However, as a functioning belt, it was useless. The belt didn’t have a good way of tightening to various waist sizes, so it would sit on my jeans just fine but it wouldn’t get tight enough to actually hold up pants that were too big. When I read that belts direct belts adjust from 24-38 inches, I knew they must provide a better adjustment mechanism than the company I had purchased from in the past. When it came, sure enough, I was thrilled to discover that the Belts Direct, you can choose what type of car you want your belt to be. Love Ford? You can buy a Ford Seatbelt Belt. Same goes for Chevrolet, GM, Jeep, Hummer and more. I live in Michigan, so it should come as no surprise that my grandfather, my uncles, my father in law, etc worked at and retired from GM. So naturally I decided to go with the Gm Seatbelt Belt. The belt strap is available in a wide assortment of colors. I love this belt and have gotten several compliments on it. Surprisingly, little kids have found it particularly fascinating. Almost like they don’t believe me that it’s a seat belt buckle – they think I’m being sarcastic or pulling a trick on them – it’s cute to see their reactions. I’ve had several kids ask to unbuckle and re-buckle it just to ‘make sure’ it’s real. The belt retails for under 25.00, making it a great price for a gift for any occasion.
Buy it: You can purchase from Belts Direct online.
