Our lease is up in December and we’re considering staying in the same apartment complex but changing to a different apartment with a different floor plan. There are apartments here that have hard wood floors and are nicer than our cheap, thin, light tan carpet. We’re also looking at the apartments on the ground floor because they have patios where you can walk out through the slider, instead of having a balcony like we do. Would be nice to not be on the third floor anymore. They said if one opens up we’ll get first pick instead of people who are just now moving in, seems how we’ve been here for a year and a half already. So if one opens up we’ll be moving kind of unexpectedly, even if it’s before our lease is up. Our lease is up on Christmas eve, so it’d be awful to move when the lease is up.

My professor told my class that in China, they eat fetuses. His point was that morality is viewed differently in different cultures, which certainly is true. But eating fetuses? He showed us a picture of a man eating a very large fetus. Admittedly, I don’t know a whole lot about China but that seemed too insane to be true. So I googled it when I got home. These are the photos we were shown in class.

Of course, they look fairly realistic. I would imagine anyway. I can’t say I’ve seen a real fetus. But a 30 second google search taught me that this man (zhu yu) is an artist. Most people say he made the fetuses out of various foods and then ate the food as an artistic, political statement. Others think it is real. Other sites yet claim it’s a combination of real meat from other non-human animals. Regardless, the professor made it out as if everyone in china eats fetuses and that it’s just considered acceptable and moral there. These pictures are used in all kinds of chain mail, weird fake websites, etc. They’re all over the internet. It’s sad to me that my professor who boasts about his PHD wouldn’t take the time to do a 30 second google search before saying something so crazy to his college class.

For the last few years I had gotten really awful about drinking soda – meaning it was really the only thing I drank. The last 4-5 days I’ve been drinking a glass a day, or less. It’s crazy how easy it was for me to cut back so much. I’ve had a couple of headaches but not bad at all. Between Ryan & myself we used to go through three 2 liters every 2 days. So at 1.25 a 2 liter that’s 45.00 a month. Crazy when you consider that the 2 liters are cheaper than cans or plastic bottles. Water gets old for me REALLY quickly, but it majorly helps to add ice, as our water faucet never truly gets cold, it just gets slightly unwarm. Hoping to find good deals on juice. I love apple juice. I also can’t wait for apple cider! I’ve been really craving fall foods like cider, apple pie, turkey, etc. I love fall.

  • He definitely should have looked it up first. Making a claim that “China eats Fetus’ Is just crazy, lol.

I cut back on pop a ton. I still occasionally have one, because I still get ridiculous headaches >.<

    • Awe that stinks that you still get headaches a lot. I’m so surprised that I don’t because back when I was drinking pop all the time I would get headaches even if I went like four hours without drinking one if we were out shopping or something. So I thought it would be just awful to basically stop all together but I’ve still only had the two headaches and they were maybe at 4 on the main scale. Plus I get headaches at least once a week so they easily could have been from something else. Definitely weird, but I won’t complain :).

  • ew. That is pretty bizarre whether true or false. All I can think of in my head is … “That’s so not vegan!” I was intrigued by the disclaimer, I must say, so I am not offended because you did warn us!
