I’ve enjoyed land o’frost sandwich meat for a long time, so I was excited to hear that land o’frost recently came out with wrap kits. I was recently given the opportunity to review the land o’frost ham and swiss wrap kit as well as their turkey and pepper-jack wrap kit. The kits are packaged in large resealable bags. Inside the outer bag is 3 resealable bags, one that contains the tortilla shells, another that contains the meat and the last contains the cheese. I like how each of the items included gets its own resealable bag, which keeps everything fresher for a longer period of time. The tortilla shells are smaller than traditional taco shells, and the package contains 5 shells. There is enough meat to include five pieces of meat per shell, and 1 thick piece of cheese per shell as well. I was pleasantly surprised at how much meat there was per shell, they definitely provided plenty. I was a bit surprised at how thin the meat was, seems how the land o’frost sandwich meat that I’m used to buying is rather thick. The ham included in the wrap kits is very thinly shaven. To heat the wrap you simply place it in the microwave for 30 seconds. All together, it only takes maybe a minute and a half to prepare the wrap and have it cooked. Ryan doesn’t like to waste any time waiting around for his food to cook, so I think this is a great match for him. It would be great for anyone who has a short lunch hour as well.

I can see the convenience of this and would use it when we travel. For at home, I would most likely buy the ingredients separately to make the wraps. It would be cheaper that way. Convenience foods are just that, a convenience, and you pay for that. There are times, like when you are on a trip that they make sense.
