I was sent a Mega Bloks Blok Squad Police Force Pursuit set for review. This set has a total of 391 pieces and says it’s for ages 5+. Some of the pieces are very tiny and there are many of them. I gave this to my 5year old nephew for his birthday. He has two brothers, ages 7 and 18. The 5 year old and 7 year old found the task of putting this together so difficult that they weren’t really even interested in trying so my 18 year old nephew put it together instead and it took him a couple of hours. The pieces weren’t bagged or labeled very easily so each piece had to be hunted for individually which was part of what took so long. Once together, the 5 and 7 year olds were interested in playing with the vehicles, but they kept having pieces break off while using them during regular play. They are young, active boys so perhaps they are more rough on the toys than a more mature, calmer natured 10 year old would be. However, with their active play the  was breaking regularly and my sister and teenage nephew were regularly being asked to put the toys back together. Eventually the boys got tired of having the items fixed and so they gave up on playing with the toy at all after a couple of days. I think this set would be better for older kids, perhaps 10+ if they are still interested in police toys. The set retails for about $19.99 on the megabloks website. There are other themes from the megabloks blok squad such as construction and firefighter sets.

I’d like to mention that I gave the company the option to have me not post this review, seems how my nephews didn’t get much use out of the toy. However, they were content to have my honest opinions put up and said that they regularly seek honest opinions even when they are less than favorable, so that they have ideas for improvement. I think that’s great.
