2K Games provided me with video games for inclusion in my holiday gift guide. All opinions are my own.
I have several gamers in my family. This year, I found two gift ideas through the company 2K Games!

First, NBA 2k26. For gamers who enjoy basketball, this is a title that many look forward to every single year. I’ve gifted this to my nephew in the past, and he enjoys getting an update each year. He plays basketball at his high school and enjoys playing it in video games, too. The new 2k26 version adds the Oklahoma City thunder star Shai Gileous-Alexander. Chicago Sky WNBA player Angel Reese, and Carmelo Kyam Anthony who played for 19 seasons! The game uses immersive technology that takes real game play footage and converts it to realistic gameplay! You can play alone or on multiplayer. Players can build their way up to a global superstar. If you know someone who likes to play basketball and video games, this makes a great gift! It’s available on several gaming platforms including Playstation, XBOX, Nintendo and PC.

The second game I’m giving this year is Civilization VII to my husband. Way back when we were newly dating, we used to play civilization III together! It was quite outdated already as Civ IV had been out for a few years already but I didn’t know that. In the Civilization games you start out as an ancient civilization and work your way up through our current modern era and beyond. You have to make calculations like how to prioritize scientific advancements, military conquest, culture, diplomacy and more. We put in a lot of hours playing Civ III. I learned some things from that game that I never learned in history class, such as what feudalism is, as unfortunate as that is! Anyway, while I haven’t played Civilization in years, my husband has continued to enjoy the new releases of Civilization games ever since. So I’m excited to give him Civilization VII. In Civilization VII, there are three distinct ages or eras. You can now select leaders seperate from their civilization, and you can change your civilization while maintaining your leader at each progression. I fully expect Ryan to enjoy this new version of Civilization as much as he’s loved all the others! Ryan likes to play on PC, but Civ VII is available for PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox as well.

Civilization VII sounds fun! My ex-boyfriend use to play Warcraft and this sounds very similar. Just more advanced.
