Mo Phillips, an award winning musician, combined his talents with other with Oregon musicians to create a rockin’ kids CD called Monster Suit. This fun kids CD pulls from a variety of genres to create a crazy mix of music that appeals to kids and adults alike.
For my review, my Nephew Gage (5 years old) and I received a Monster Suit CD. With 14 rocking tunes; they offer carefree, kid-friendly music that is a little “cooler” than the typical nursery rhyme. The thought about sitting through a kids CD can be a little scary at times; however, I found it enjoyable and I have to admit my toes started tapping (don’t go spreading that too far). With titles like “Toes,” “Droolin,” “Rollerskate Banana Peels,” “Ducks Don’t Get Wet,” and “Suction Cup” I knew I was in for a memorable experience. One of the songs says “I want you in my mouth,’ which I found a bit off putting, but Gage didn’t think twice about the comment. He enjoyed listening to the CD at bed time – although the tunes are catchy, they still lulled the little guy to sleep. He was not able to choose a favorite song, but he asked for a repeat performance several nights in a row, which means it was a hit in my book. Overall, I would say that this CD is a keeper – it offers original, fun songs that kids seem to connect to.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.
