Black+Blum, is a partnership that was formed in 1998 and based in London. They initially began as a design consultancy and then decided to develop their own products. Dan (Black) and Martin (Blum) enjoy being able to put their personalities into each and every product. Every product is a joint effort by both individuals and their goal is that every product is unique, functional, charming and entertaining.
Black+Blum is now an award-winning company and their products are offered in stores world-wide. It didn’t take long for this duo to establish themselves in the marketplace. Their first award was won in 2001 and they have continued to win awards worldwide from that point forward.
For our review, we were sent the Box Appetit Lunch Box. The first thing I noticed before even taking it out of the cardboard (unbleached by the way and with no solvent glue used) was that it’s BPA-free. A huge “plus” in our family. I also noticed that it’s microwave safe and dishwasher safe.
After I removed the cardboard, wow, was I ever impressed. It’s beautiful! The box feels very durable and the lid snaps/locks firmly. No more messy lunch surprises when things get tipped over in the office fridge! Inside the main compartment, there are two smaller compartments perfect for salad dressing or sauce in one and the other larger one could even hold half a sandwich cut on the diagonal.
I like a company that can turn the normal everyday product into something fun and different.
Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.
