Sheex, Inc. was founded by Susan Walvius and Michelle Marciniak. Both women are former University of South Carolina basketball coaches. Their mission
is to provide their consumers with an alternative to cotton bed sheets…an alternative that is superior and offers maximum comfort and performance.
The Sleep-fit Technology (a trademark) takes into account that the consumer’s quality of sleep is directly related to temperature. Unlike the Sheex performance fabric, traditional sheets trap the body’s temperature and can lead to disrupted sleep. The Sheex performance fabric breathes and allows the body temperature to maintain optimum natural conditions and therefore induces a better sleep.
Studies have proven that a better/longer period of sleep leads to a healthier consumer. Not only does our sleep pattern influence our mood, but also our heart rate, energy and weight.
The performance fabric used by Sheex, Inc. not only allows the body to naturally control its temperature during periods of sleep but it’s also breathable, very durable, and wicks moisture. The flexibility of the fabric allows the sheets to better fit various mattress styles.
For our review, we were sent a pair of standard size pillowcases. Unfortunately, not realize we were going to receive them, my husband surprised me with a set of KING size pillows just a few days before the Sheex set arrived! I had my doubts that they would fit!When Sheex says that their fabric is flexible, that’s what they mean. I shoved those king size pillows into the standard size cases and pulled the corners and you would never know my little secret. There wasn’t a lot of extra fabric but the pillows were covered.
I’m one of those “toss and turn” sleepers and I am constantly flipping my pillows over during the night because I want a cold pillow. My first night of sleep with the Sheex pillowcases, I woke up about an hour of sleep and flipped my pillow over out of habit. Hmmm, it was slightly cooler on the other side but not nearly as much as with my cotton set. I think I did that one more time during the night and I was awake enough to realize that I was conducting my own test. After that, I didn’t wake again until it was morning. Another wonderful feature of these pillowcases is that they don’t stay wrinkled. Immediately upon waking, I took a photo of the wrinkled pillowcase. I then pulled two opposite corners (diagonally) and then the other two corners…and there were no wrinkles! That would never happen with my cotton cases.
I’m sold…..this fabric is not only more user friendly as far as providing a better sleeping experience but it looks great “the morning after” also!
