Connect Your Home

As you can tell by just watching TV commercials for a few hours, there are so many different home phone, internet, wireless, and TV companies out there now. Some companies offer multiple services, and bundles if you get multiple services through their company. It can be difficult to determine which companies provide the best deal for your family’s usage.

We used to live in an apartment complex that required we go through a certain company if we wanted internet at our apartment. We called to get the internet set up, and were asked if we wanted a home phone line too. We said no, as we both have cell phones and we just feel that having a home phone is unnecessary. Then they explained that it would be cheaper for us to have internet AND a home phone line, than it would to have just internet through them. While this seemed silly, we decided to allow them to set up the home phone line, and we just didn’t use it but it made our bill cheaper than it would have been if we hadn’t had them set up the phone line.

Clearly, this companies plans and our needs didn’t match up. Connect Your Home is a website that is designed to help you determine which company has the best plan for your household based on your household needs.

For example, if Ryan’s mom were to use this service she would want to look into the internet and home phone service, because she wants both of those services but doesn’t use cable or any other tv service. By putting in her zip code, she can see which services are available in her area, and information about each service such as how quick the internet is and how much it will cost per month. If you think you might be paying too much for similar services, you can check out connect your home to see if cheaper options are available.

  • I have a love/hate with the whole bundle thing. We have our home phone, internet and television all through a bundle plan. Half of the time (actually all of the time now) our home phone doesn’t work. It’s ok b/c we have cell phones now, but it stinks that they won’t take it off of the plan and give us a discount. Oh well…
