I love so many handmade items, but handmade jewelry is a favorite of mine. I am quite picky when it comes to jewelry so I’m always thrilled when I find handmade jewelry that appeals to my tastes. I am a lover of bracelets and wrap bracelets are one of my favorite types of bracelets. I was recently able to check out the Refuge For Her bracelet from Bev’s beadz and I absolutely love it.
The wrap bracelet is an impressive 54 inches long and alternates between strings of beads and strips of leather that have beads strung on the leather. The bracelet overall is brown with beads that are brown, red, yellow, blue etc. I feel that it has a very natural appearance overall. The bracelet is secured with a leather loop on one end that you can secure around a large wooden piece that is on the opposite end. This makes the bracelet truly adjustable for all people, which I love because so many wrap bracelets don’t fit quite right on my wrist so they are either left being much too large and slipping around or just completely unwearable. Because of my particular wrist size, I have to tighten the bracelet and leave about a 3.5 inch “tail” of leather that hangs but it’s not a problem for me. Some of the beads are very round, without having a flat side so I am careful to adjust the bracelet so that it isn’t loose or tight, as if its too tight the round beads will leave imprints in my skin.
Seems how it is a truly one size fits all wrap, it also can be worn as a necklace or anklet but I usually wear it as a bracelet. My nephew Drew who jsut turned 2 is very interested in this bracelet and likes to play with it whenever he sees me. One day we wrapped it around his tiny wrist and secured it. While it was rather impractical as it covered most of his forearm, it was funny to see that it truly will fit anyone no matter how small.
