I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. This week, I practiced my Nutrisystem tips on how to survive holiday parties without derailing my diet. For Thanksgiving we spent the morning with my family and the afternoon with my Husband’s family. That meant I needed to be strong through two holiday feasts. I planned ahead and took my meals with me. Though I will admit it, there were a few family dishes that I really missed having. I probably would have been fine having small portions of those dishes, but I wasn’t feeling confident in my ability to stick to the appropriate sized servings so eating my Nutrisystem meals WAS the easy way out for me.
This week, my measurements showed a loss of 0 in my upper arms, .5 in chest, 0 in waist, .5 in my hips, 0 in my thighs, a weekly total of 1 inch and an overall total of 22.5 inches. I also lost 1 pound, bringing my overall total to 25.4 pounds in 14 weeks!
Next week I am really going to work on returning to a regular exercise schedule. During the last couple of weeks, I haven’t been getting to exercise as much as would like to because of sick kids and family gatherings. I know that that’s life and I need to learn to prioritize my exercise needs. This is something I have always struggled with and image most parents do. I am working on it.
I found a recipe on the Nutrisystem website that I thought sounded perfect for cold Fall/Winter weather, it’s called Chicken Broccoli Casserole.
Ingredients-
1 dash Garlic and onion powder
1 oz. fat free shredded cheddar cheese
1 pkg Nutrisystem Three Cheese Pasta with Chicken
1 dash pepper
¾ cup broccoli
1 splash chicken broth, low sodium
1 spray pan spray
¼ cup sliced baby bella mushrooms
Directions-
1. Cook Nutrisystem Three Cheese Pasta with Chicken entree as directed.
2. Chop mushrooms and broccoli into bite-sized pieces.
3. Spray a pan with cooking spray. Throw in chopped veggies.
4. Sprinkle garlic, onion powder and pepper to taste.
5. When veggies are tender to your liking, add in a splash of low-sodium chicken broth (you don’t need much).
6. Add in prepared Nutrisystem® entree. Stir to incorporate.
7. Spray a ramekin with cooking spray. Pour chicken mixture into ramekin.
8. Top with 1 oz. fat free cheddar cheese shreds.
9. Bake in oven at 350 degrees F for approximately 7 minutes or until cheese is melted. Enjoy!

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

You are doing a great job! I just posted my Nutrisystem results for the week too, and also lost during the Thanksgiving week. I was worried I wouldn’t because I ate with my family on Thursday!
