Little Monsters Gear was created by Abbie, who comes from a large family. As a child her father would come up with nicknames for each of her siblings. She used these nicknames to create less-than-scary monster designs that she had made onto onesies, t-shirts, bibs, and burp cloths. There are two types of monster clothing – a fierce line and a gentle line but neither are truly scary some are just more cheerfully colored than others.

I really like cute monsters and even have an Etsy shop where I make quirky stuffed monster toys, so I wasn’t surprised that I loved the items found at Little Monsters Gear. My sister Erica has a 2 year old – Drew who has been nicknamed Bubba for quite a while now. I was so excited to see that Bubba is one of the monsters listed at Little Monsters Gear. She is also expecting a baby girl in March. When I organized this review we weren’t sure if the baby was a boy or a girl yet, so I selected the gentle Peanut monster onesie (called onzee at little monsters gear) seems how both the nickname and the colors used for the monster seemed pretty gender neutral.

The onezees are available in sizes 3-6 months through 12-18 months. They also have t shirts in sizes 2t, 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8. I was sad that the t-shirt I ordered for Drew only has ‘Bubba’ written really small on the monsters foot where as the picture online had Bubba written in thick black lettering. However, once I went back to the website I realized that the pictures do show the difference in design between the onezees and t-shirts.

The clothing comes with a tag that explains that monsters personality which is just a cute added touch. For babies, ordering the matching bib and burp cloth would be super cute. They also have brightly colored leg warmers that make a fun accessory for the onezees.

Most of the monster names listed are fairly common nicknames such as sweet pea and cuddle bug so check to see if your child’s nickname is listed.
