I think that tweens and teens can be some of the hardest people to shop for. They tend to be so particular about their likes and dislikes, and they can change so quickly that it’s hard to keep up. Yet, when I stumbled on the IScream online store I knew I immediately knew I could find gifts for my 9 year old sister and 12 & 14 year old nieces there. All kids (and even grown-up kids) like candy and I like how a lot of the items at Iscream feature some favorite candy or snack brands like gummy bears, Smarties, Dum Dums, and candy dots.
Everything was really cute and modern. Their plush blankets looked so furry and they have pillow shams to match. I knew that my nieces who are feminine without being overly girly would like the blankets, pillowcases and plush loungewear. My super girly little sister would like their bags, purses and totes.
In the past, one of my go-to gift ideas for tweens and teens has been notebooks and neat pens that write in different colors or are otherwise cool. Iscream has lots of fun themes for their notebooks, pens, and other stationary.
I was sent a pair of pj pants, a sham and a pillow for review. The sham and the PJ pants are so incredibly soft. I had never felt a material quite like these are made out of. The material is thick and squishy, I tried my best to photograph the texture of the pants to show how plush it is. I don’t usually think to read washing instructions for clothing but just because these were a new material for me I read them and they are machine washable but the tag says to turn them sideout before washing. I did that and was thrilled that they came out of the wash feeling just as soft as they were before they went in. Their PJ pants are available in girls sizes x-small (4-6) through Large (14-16). The size large is roughly comparable to a women’s small so these actually fit me instead of my 12 year old niece who I had intended them for. The description does say not intended for sleepwear. Most of the lounge pants at Iscream are sold for $30 each. The sham’s go for $25.00 each. They have a line of lounge shorts that are made of the same material, and lounge shirts as well.
The pillow that we were sent is filled with tiny beads, making it fun to just squish and hug the pillow because the insides move around based on the pressure you apply. It’s really well filled though, so when you use it your head doesn’t sink through to the bed like many pillows of this type do. My 12 year old niece really liked this pillow and said she was excited to show it to her friends at a slumber party they have planned. Most of the microbead pillows sell for $30.00 each.
