I’ve known the name Carhartt for as long as I can remember. My winter coat is a Carhartt because I’ve found that no other type or brand of coat compares to the warm that my Carhartt has. Here in Michigan, the winters can be pretty bitter cold and Carhartt’s do an awesome job of keeping the wind out and keeping me warm, despite being a fairly thin material that doesn’t prevent me from moving around freely. In my family, I’m not the only lover of Carhartt – Ryan, my dad, mom, mother in law, brother and sister in law all wear Carhartt coats all the time. While I love Carhartt coats, I had never personally tried Carhartt jeans before.

I did however know that one of my brothers loves them. He’s a mechanic and he does a lot of moving around on the job and when he would try to buy bargain jeans, they’d always end up tearing easily so he’d send more in the end than he would have by just buying quality jeans from the start. For several years now he’s relied on Carhartt brand jeans because they keep up with him without tearing. He’s found them them to be a great value because they last him so much longer than other brands.

After hearing such great things about Carhartt men’s jeans from my brother, I was excited to try out their children’s jeans with Drew. Drew is 2 and he might be pint sized but he is a super active little guy (as you can tell from these pictures – he never holds still!). In the summer, we spend almost all day outside (with lots of sunscreen, of course!) and he doesn’t slow down until about two seconds before nap time. Then as soon as he’s back awake, he’s full of energy again and ready to play some more. Active little guys like Drew who love to be outside can be pretty rough on their jeans. It’s bad enough that kids outgrow their clothing so quickly, that it’s really frustrating when clothing rips or tears because then you get even less wear out of them.

Carhartt has Denim Dungaree jeans for infant and toddler boys that are prepared to keep up with your tough little guy. They come in sizes 3months-4t, with slight difference in the 3-9month sizes vs he 12-24 month sizes and 2-4t sizes. Drew just recently started to switch out of 18 month jeans into size 24  months. The 12-24 month jeans have an elastic waist where as the 2-4t have an adjustable waist. While Drew is of normal height, it’s his small waist that requires him to wear smaller sizes so I went with the 2T, seems how I knew we could adjust them to his waist.

As I expected, they were a little bit big, but definitely wearable. When I first put them on him, they would gap in the back when he bent over or moved around, so I kept using the waist adjustment until we were able to make them snug. I love how the waist adjuster has several holes in the elastic where you can thread the button through, instead of just two or three. This allows you to truly customize the fit to your little one. With the waist adjusted, they fit nicely. The seams are triple stitched and they have a full seat and thigh, making them really durable.

(Caught him mid sentence & mid movement – he wasn’t really surprised like he appears to be, haha)

The quality and durability of these Carhartt Toddler Jeans is great, but I can’t help but point out how adorable they are too! I love how they look like tiny versions of men’s jeans. Drew doesn’t yet seem to give much care to his clothing, but when boys go through that “I want to be just like Daddy” phase these would definitely appeal to them as well.

If you have a little girl, don’t feel left out because Carhartt has a line of girls clothing as well which covers Infants, Toddlers and Girls sizes. They even have teeny tiny pink Carhartt coats for baby girls. They are unbelievably adorable.
