I told you guys a couple of weeks ago that I was going to get to go to the Harlem Globetrotters when they stopped in Lansing, Michigan. Well, I wound up getting really sick for about a week which was that same week. Instead of just letting my tickets go to waste, I passed them on to my sister who took her boyfriend, 2 year old son and our 9 year old sister to the game. None of them had ever been to a Harlem Globetrotters game before so none of them really knew what to expect. She said it was really busy and everyone seemed really excited for the show, there was lots of energy in the crowd.

Her two year old was a little unsure what to think at first, mainly because of the big crowd but once the show got started he had a great time and so did the rest of them. At 2, Drew didn’t really seem to understand a lot of the humor that was used in the performance, while my 9 year old sister thought it was all hilarious (she told me that the one player was “depants” and wound up wearing just boxers and that shocked her so it was really funny). Despite not understanding the humor, Drew had a good time because he liked to watch the various mascots as they danced around. As you can see in the picture below, even Drew’s dad (far right in the left picture) was thoroughly entertained as well.

The globetrotters tour that they are on is called You Write The Rules – this tour is going to continue through early May, so check their full schedule to see if they’ll be coming near you. I was really surprised at how close they came to me as most events like this only stop at two or three places in Michigan – in the biggest city’s which are all 1.5+ hours away but they came within 40 minutes of me. So check even if you don’t think they will, you never know!
