As soon as we found out that my sister was expecting a baby girl, I started dreaming about ruffles, lace and all things adorable, sweet and girly. While I’ve browsed tons of baby clothes in the last few months and so much of it was incredibly cute, nothing quite compares to the adorable, unique clothing that you can find at boutiques. I love finding items that are more original – things I know aren’t sold at every department store in town, so the chances of running into another person in the same outfit is low. Unique clothing seems to do a better job of showing off personality as well. While we don’t know Kelsie’s personality yet because she’s not here, we get to infringe our own likes and personalities onto her until we get to see more of who she is.
I was recently browsing the Bunnies Picnic website thinking about Kelsie and how adorable she would be in so many of the outfits that they have for baby girls. I ooed and awwed over these ruffle bottom tights, knowing she’d be just a couple of weeks old at Easter this year. Wouldn’t they be so sweet with an Easter dress? Then I turned to the page that had this Daschund Pinafore Footie on it and immediately realized I was no longer browsing for Kelsie, but instead for my cousins baby. See, my cousin is due in July and for quite a while now she has had Daschund dogs or puppies. One of her dogs had even had a litter of puppy’s a while back. I hadn’t really started purchasing for her baby shower yet, but I couldn’t pass up the chance to check out this adorable outfit. It’s not everyday that you find such a perfect gift for a daschund loving family. I had to have it.
I thought it was cute online – the puppy on the front combined with puppies on the feet (who have bows on their ears!) is just over the top adorable. But, it’s even cuter in person! Online you can’t see the back of this dress, which splits in the middle to uncover a ruffled bottom – adding that extra girly touch to this sweet baby girl outfit. My cousins baby isn’t here yet so we haven’t got to put it on her yet, but I can’t wait to give it to her as a shower gift.
The crotch and legs have button snaps for easy dressing and diaper changing, but they are designed so that the snaps are on the insides of the fabric so they aren’t as visible as usual. The red portion begins to split about midway down the baby’s back and the lower back and bottom of the white piece is ruffled. This outfit comes in sizes 3, 6, and 9 months. I went with 3 months seems how the baby will be 3-6 months old from October – January so if she fits in the same size as her age, it will be great for this winter here in Michigan.
While their selection of adorable baby girl items is plentiful, they also have sections for older girls (up through size 12) and boys as well. I have a very “girly” 9 year old sister who I’m sure would love to shop their Tween section.
