SunnyBump
When you have a baby to prepare for – there are SO many things to buy. Clothing, blankets, bottles, pacifiers, a crib, car seat, swing, bouncy seat, burp cloths – the list goes on and on. Even if it’s your second or third baby you’ll have a few purchasing decisions to decide. Has the car seat expired, or can it be reused? Can you reuse the crib, or is your older child using it for a crib or toddler bed? If the baby is a different gender, you might have to replace almost everything if yo went with gender specific gear the first time around. Another big factor to consider is what you’ll be getting as gifts. If someone might get you a bouncy seat for your baby shower, you probably don’t want to buy one yourself. So planning super early isn’t always possible.

SunnyBump is a website that can help you prepare for baby in regards to shopping. In some ways, SunnyBump reminds me of pinterest. It’s a photo-heavy site where you can create collections of images that represent products. You can browse for items that interest you for your child and save them into collections on your profile so that you can view them later. For example, you might want to select a few car seats that you’re considering, but want to put off purchasing the item until you have enough money saved up or until after your baby shower. SunnyBump is a great site for keeping track of the car seats you had considered. You can create collections for just about anything you can imagine. Maybe you want to select a theme for the nursery. If so, SunnyBump could be a tool that allows you to store products that fit your theme so that you can come back after gathering a bunch of products to see which ones best match each other so you can select a color.

You can “bump” images/products that you find on the SunnyBump site into your own collection or you can browse the internet and add images to SunnyBump if you have the SunnyBump toolbar installed. By browsing other peoples collections, you can find their curations of products.

It’s free to sign up for SunnyBump and you don’t have to be a parent or pregnant to sign up (I am neither, and am not planning to get pregnant anytime soon). When I made my account it asked if I were a parent or some other relation so I signed up as an aunt seems how my sister was still pregnant when I first created my account. PS, here is a peek at my sweet niece I keep mentioning but haven’t shown off yet. She’s 4 days shy of a month old now, this was her and her brother on Easter.

So people like me can create collections of gift ideas for their nieces and nephews, or just have fun planning for their future children even if they are years away from having kids. When I was on the SunnyBump site I made a few collections for fun, including this hedgehog themed collection. I am a hedgehog lover and every time I see a baby product that has a hedgehog on it, I immediately want to buy it for one of my nieces and nephews so this collection is a neat way that I can keep track of the products I want to buy.
