Father’s day is just about two weeks away now – have you decided what you’re going to get your dad? What about grandpa? Your husband?
I am not the best gift giver. I put a lot of time and thought into what to get people for gift giving occasions but I have such a hard time making up my mind that I usually wait until last minute, and then it’s often to late to order online. So, don’t be like me!
This year, I have been able to line up a few reviews to help you guys come up with gift ideas for father’s day, including this one from Barbara’s Cookie Pies. Yes, you read that right, they are cookies and pies! Ryan & I were able to check out two products from Barbara’s cookie pies – one for him and one for me. Ryan selected the Oreo Creme Cookie Pie and I went with the Rainbow Confetti Cookie Cake.
Mine was a cookie cake instead of a cookie pie. For the most part, mine just seemed like a gigantic cookie. The bulk of the cookie cake (everything except the top) was similar to a cookie texture but softer than a traditional cookie, while being harder than those super-soft cookies. It was also nice and moist, instead of dried out like many pre-made cookies that you can purchase in stores. The sprinkles were exactly like the rainbow sprinkles that you can purchase in stores for decorating birthday cakes or cupcakes at home, and were the exact type that my favorite bakery puts on my favorite donuts so they reminded me of those. I found it very yummy, but also very sweet so I have been picking at it for quite a while now, eating a bite or two at a time. I am pretty sensitive to sweets though.
Ryan’s was a cookie pie, so instead of being a gigantic cookie his was a combination of a cookie and a pie. The outside of his pie (the “pie” part) is made out of butter cookie crust which is essentially a cookie in and of itself, much sweeter and “yummier” than a traditional pie crust. Then inside there is a white creme that is covered in crumbled pieces of Oreos (real Oreos!) so it’s basically an Oreo mixture inside of a cookie! When Ryan first tried the Oreo Creme Cookie Pie he didn’t say anything so I asked him if it was good. His response was “Yeah. Really, really good!”. As an Oreo lover, he expected the cookie pie to be good but it still managed to exceed his expectations. When it comes to food, I don’t think it gets better than being tastier than expected! So, we’re definitely fans of Barbara’s Cookie Pies.
Want to order for father’s day? If you live on the east coast, you can order up until June 13th. If you live on the West coast, you’ll need to order by June 10th. People who live in between the coasts will be in between those two dates.
