Back to school time is a mixture of emotions for many. Some are excited to go back and see all of their friends that they missed over the summer break. Others dread the daily tasks associated with school, homework and hearing the tardy bell again. Luckily my kids take after their dad when it comes to their feelings about school. Just like he did, they love going to school.
To prepare the girls for going back to school, I like to thoroughly clean out both of their rooms. This is the perfect opportunity for us to go through their closets and dressers to see what fits and what doesn’t. Then I take a quick inventory and try to figure out what we will need to get through the next season or two. Once I have made my list, both girls and I head out for a day of back to school shopping.
Our first stop this year was at Kohl’s. The girls were looking forward to seeing the new D-Signed clothing line. This line features outfits worn by their favorite Disney Channel TV characters. We are big fans of the show Girl Meets World!
As soon as we walked in the girl’s department at Kohl’s, my daughters quickly began finding items they loved. With a little bit of help, they began putting together outfits. After a fashion show in the dressing room, they each had their three final choice outfits.
All of us had a great trip to Kohl’s. The girls are pleased with their purchases. Savannah is ready to take on second grade and Cheyenne is set to explore kindergarten.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us.
