I love beef jerky. It’s easily in my top three favorite foods of all time. I’m not sure if I have ever tried a type of jerky that I didn’t like. However, I definitely can see a difference between different types of jerky. I like jerky that is tender and not greasy/oily. Yet, I don’t care for jerky that is too dried out, either. I prefer slightly hot or spicy jerky over traditional jerky. However, most of the time spicy or hot jerky has so much spice added that you can’t taste the jerky flavor which I don’t like as much. So I guess you could say I like well seasoned jerky that has some spice but not so much that it overrides the flavor of the jerky itself. I have a hard time finding jerky that includes this ideal balance of flavor/seasoning without spice but am always up for trying new varieties in hopes of finding it.
I was recently able to try Original Bills steak strips. The larger packs that I was sent were steak strips that rectangular strips of jerky that really do seem more steak-like than other varieties of jerky. I loved savoring the flavors of each piece because it was strong flavored without just being “hot spices” thrown in. The pieces weren’t overly greasy/oily and were nice and tender so they were easy to chew. The original and hot varieties were both delicious in my opinion. I think this brand has become one of my new favorite varieties of jerky.
We were also sent a 12 count box of individually packaged steak strips. These reminded me of the beef jerky strips that you’d see at a convenience store snack aisle and the box of 12 is a really convenient way to order for consuming at home. The strips would be perfect for stocking stuffers because they are long and skinny in shape.
Ryan & I both really enjoyed all of the Original Bills steak strip jerky products. I’d love to find some in my stocking and I’d recommend trying them out for any jerky lovers or foodies out there.
