My little town has a Dollar General as our only store that carries grocery or household items, so I go there regularly. I was so excited to learn that Dollar General recently rolled out a new coupon program. A few years ago I loved using coupons because I loved seeing how it helped me save on groceries and household goods. However, it became really time-consuming to gather newspaper coupons, print online coupons, cut them out, find them once in the store, make sure they weren’t expired, etc. I eventually gave up on couponing the old way and I’ve missed the savings.
Dollar General’s new digital coupon program is great for people like me who want to save money without investing so much time using traditional coupons. Use your phone to create an account with Dollar General and you can “clip” available coupons right on your phone without any need to print or physically clip anything. Once you’re finished shopping at Dollar General have the cashier scan everything you’ve purchased. Using the debit card machine, select the DG coupons button and put in your phone number that is associated with your Dollar General digital coupon account. The machine will automatically look at the items you purchased and see if your account had any coupons clipped that could be used to help you save on those items, and will remove that cost.
I have been doing a lot of cleaning since we packed from the holidays. I needed more paper towel so I clipped a $1.00 off Scott coupon on the Dollar General digital program. I purchased the Scott paper towel and put in my phone number at check out and the $1.00 already came off. This is just one example, Dollar General currently has over $200 worth of coupon savings available!
I’m loving the new coupon program and I’m glad that I was able to stock up on my Scott paper towels at a great price. I love the select a size option so I don’t waste a full sheet for a small clean up job. The sheets are thick and absorbent so they last a long time.
Check out the Dollar General Digital Coupon program to save up to $200 on your favorite brands including Scott. Dollar General has bonus packs of Scott paper products!
Do you save money on groceries and household products without couponing the old way? What are your tips and tricks?
Thank you to SCOTT® and Dollar General for sponsoring today’s post and helping me find savings on all of my paper product needs!

This program is awesome! I have used it since it started. I live next door to Dollar General, one of my favorite stores!

Thank you for the information. I agree that too often “old style” coupons can be not so easy to obtain or use or something else. And digital (in our digital times) is a way to go now

Totally off topic but I love that you love select a size!! My hubby and I argue over whether its good or not, I love it and he hates it lol… huge fight!! Im glad us smart ladies think alike 😉

My local King Soopers does digital coupons. So much easier that paper ones.

I like digital coupons, but most of the time these coupons can only be used once. Printing off the internet, you almost all the time can print two copies.

I love the Kroger (Ralph’s near me) digital coupons, especially their weekly freebie coupons that I just load to my card, which is on my key ring. Nothing to remember or clip. I stopped clipping newspaper coupons years ago since I eat little processed food. I also love the select-a-size paper towel option! I hate using too much of any paper product.

Agh! Such a cool idea. Wish I had a Dollar General near me. Maybe some other companies will adopt a similar system. I’d love to use something like this!
