My great-grandma and my grandma on my mom’s side both had breast cancer. So far, two of my moms four sisters have also had breast cancer. While I wasn’t born yet when my great-grandma and grandma had breast cancer, it’s been hard to see my aunts have to face these battles. It also raises a big concern for me about my mom, my female cousins, my sister and myself. It just seems like an awful lot of breast cancer in a single family. As a result, breast cancer is something that worries me a lot and something I want to see research done on so we can hopefully improve treatment, find a cause or learn more about it.

With breast cancer being prevalent in my family, it always catches my eye when I hear about charities and businesses that support breast cancer awareness or research. Many businesses discuss breast cancer in October during breast cancer awareness month but it’s rare to hear about the cause throughout the rest of the year from any business. So when I heard that Megabus.com is doing a breast cancer event in January it caught my eye.

Megabus pink

MegaBus.com is a business that offers express bus service to over 100 cities in North America. They sell an average of 20,000 tickets each day and on January 19th $1 will from each ticket sold will go to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

To help spread word about the effort, individuals who have been impacted by breast cancer will be taking a specially decorated MegaBus.com to travel from the MegaBus.com headquarters to New York City to attend a taping of The View. The bus is decorated in shades of pink including pink ribbon and text to show off support of breast cancer awareness and research.

If you use MegaBus.com and want to support the cause be sure to buy tickets on January 19th.

This is so great! Im so glad they are offering this for people affected by such an awful disease. I also like that part of the ticket sales goes to research.

I love companies that do things for a cause!! Especially a cause I know so well!! I don’t think there is a person in this world who hasn’t been affected by this awful disease!! One day there will be a cure!!

I’ve not heard of this bus but try to support Breast Cancer Awareness, being a nurse, and also since my grandma was a survivor of the disease too. I am fortunate to live near City of Hope in Duarte, CA, where they do important cancer research, and have many events that also raise awareness of all types of cancer.

I love how eye-catching the pink bus is, so that people are aware of the campaign! I’ve taken their buses to/from New York before and it’s great that they’re supporting this cause.
