I have been provided with a Nutrisystem plan in exchange for sharing my honest experience and results on my blog. All opinions are my own.

Mother’s day 2015 was a nice day for my family. We went to dinner and took some family photos. The only thing that was less than ideal about the day was how we felt about the pictures once they were taken. Ryan & I both were surprised at how we looked in the pictures. Ryan didn’t start Nutrisystem until a few months later, but the mother’s day photo was one of the things that made him realize he really wanted to focus on getting healthier.
I thought there was a good chance that we would take family photos again this year. We did, but we were sitting down and Ryan was in the back row so it wasn’t good for easy comparison, unfortunately.
However, Ryan got a hair cut the day before Mother’s Day, and when he got home he decided to try shaving off his beard.
Ryan has kept a full beard since he was in high school, though he sometimes changes its length. In the time we’ve dated (since 2007) I believe he has shaved off his beard about four or five times. Until this week, the most recent time was around April of 2015. So although our mother’s day photos weren’t good for full-body comparisons, I was excited to do a match up of him without a beard to show his face progress better. I couldn’t decide which picture was more similar in angle to the photo from last year, so I did two collages.
Ryan didn’t keep a beard for weight loss reasons, he simply prefers his appearance with a beard. While he’s clearly made progress, he’d like to lose more in his face still. Despite the clear weight loss in his face, he’ll be growing his beard back. Still, it was fun to see for a couple of days just for comparison purposes.
He decided that once he’s at his goal weight he’ll shave again just to compare. It’s so neat to see how weight loss even effects minor features like the face.

I enjoy the updates too. It is amazing how facial hair changes how a guy looks. I like it both ways, beard or no beard!
