Gallery walls have become quite popular in home decor. Creating a gallery wall is fairly simple to do. I suggest you first decide if you want  your gallery wall to have a theme (travel, nature, vintage, spiritual, etc.) or if you are simply going to wing-it and use anything that catches your eye. Next, is the step that can be time consuming, collect the items you want to display. Take time to shop around. Don’t forget to shop craft stores, second-hand stores, and garage sales. I like blending old and new. I also like combining different textures. Once you have your pieces collected, lay them out on the floor, in the same size area as your wall area. Try arranging your pieces in different patterns until you find an arrangement you like. Now it’s time to hang your items on the wall. I like to start with the middle pieces, then I like to work my way out from there. Once you have everything on the wall, stand back and access your work. Make changes if needed.

I recently began building a gallery wall in our entry hallway. We are preparing for our house warming party so I needed to get something up on the empty wall. I don’t have the luxury of waiting until I have all of my pieces collected so I am going to add-on as I go. I started with two special photos that I had turned into canvas prints at CanvasPop. When personalizing my prints, I selected the sepia finish for two reasons- 1. I like the vintage look that comes with a sepia finish 2. my  gray wall paint color is more blue than I like so adding pops of red/orange helps to neutralize that blue. It didn’t take long for my CanvasPop order to arrive.  My prints turned out great. They are well made and look amazing!

Once I had my CanvasPop prints, I added a rusty saw blade (my husband works in the logging industry), a red letter A (our last name is Adams), an arrow and a light turquoise feather. Today I am going to a vintage home decor sale. I hope to find a few more pieces to finish off my gallery wall.

I love how my gallery wall is coming together. My CanvasPop prints are definitely a focal point.

I’ve never used Canvas Pop before but after reading a few of these reviews, I’m really looking forward to it. I have some family pics that would be perfect for someone’s special birthday this year 😉
