Last June, my family and I purchased our dream home. The house and property were in great shape. All we needed to do was update the decor to make it our own.
One of the updates I really wanted to make was to a small yard on the side of the house. This area is outside our dining nook and next to our back porch. It made sense to me to turn this area into an outdoors dining area. We had a patio table and chair set that were in pretty good condition. All I really needed was an umbrella to give us some protection from the sun.
I went to Kohls.com to see if they had an umbrella that would fit my size needs as well as style and budget. Sure enough, they had one that fit my criteria. For my review, I received the SONOMA Goods for Life 9-ft. Crank and Tilt Patio Umbrella in the Aqua Trellis color/pattern.
The umbrella arrives in three pieces- the aluminum pole, the part with the umbrella and a decorative top finial. It took a couple minutes to screw all three pieces together and then insert it into the center of my table.
The umbrella is made of a T-spun polyester material. The Aqua Trellis color/pattern is everything I had hoped it would be. The colors are beautiful and the pattern is playful yet classy.
The SONOMA Goods for Life 9-ft. Crank and Tilt Patio Umbrella is super easy to operate. About mid-way up the pole their is a crank handle to open and close the umbrella. Near the top of the pole (under the umbrella) is a push lever to tilt the top of the pole and the umbrella. It really could not be more simple.
Now that we have the SONOMA Goods for Life 9-ft. Crank and Tilt Patio Umbrella, my family enjoys dining Al Fresco.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. I had a hard time finding an affordable umbrella when I was shopping for one but I wanted one that wasn’t attached to a table. It wanted to tip over without the table support and it was disappointing to say the least. They have more choices these days and this one is lovely.
Hello Deb. The umbrella in my review isn’t attached to my table. My table top has a cutout for the umbrella pole. Even with the hole, the umbrella will tip over without a base. I have the bottom of the pole secured in a large rock that has a drill hole in the top of it.
