I have been provided with a Nutrisystem plan in exchange for sharing my honest experience and results on my blog. All opinions are my own.
Last week I shared Ryan’s big Nutrisystem scale victory. He dropped below 200 pounds! It was so exciting to see a 100-number on the scale for him. This week brought another Nutrisystem victory, but it wasn’t (directly) scale related.
A few days ago Ryan went to our bank to transfer money between accounts to prepare to pay some bills. The bank teller was new, or perhaps she just works a few hours but Ryan hadn’t seen her before. Our town is small enough that most of the bank tellers recognize us, but this one didn’t. She asked for Ryan’s ID and bank card to look up his account on the computer system. When he passed over his license she glanced at the photo, then up at Ryan, back down to the photo and up at Ryan again. She smiled and said “I guess that is you. About time for a new license, right?” except, he just renewed his license 15 months ago. He certainly has changed a lot since the photo, but it was neat to see a complete stranger comment on the significant difference.
Ryan has found that sometimes Nutrisystem encourages him to keep going when he sees the scale drop. Other times its “non scale victories” like a stranger not recognizing you based on your photo ID. Or, having to buy a new wardrobe because none of the clothes from last summer fit. Ryan’s been on this journey for 10 months now so it’s incredible that the process and benefits are still coming. He’s now 59 pounds down from his starting weight from last July!

It’s great Ryan lost the weight the right way and on his terms when he was ready. He has a great chance of keeping it off going forward, which is the downfall of many dieters.
